Preparation and Usage
Yorkshire Puddings.
Cooking time: 20-30 minutes
Makes: 12 Puddings
Method: Oven
You will need: 1 medium egg; 200ml water; 20ml (4 tsp) vegetable oil for greasing.
Method:
1. Pre-heat the oven to 200°C/Fan 180°C/ Gas 6
2. Add 1/3 tsp of vegetable oil into each hole of the tin, then place in the oven until smoking hot.
3. Beat together the egg and water in a bowl.
4. Empty the batter mix into a separate mixing bowl and gradually add the liquid into it, whisk until a smooth batter is formed.
5. Divide the mixture equally into the holes and bake 20-30 minutes until well risen and golden.
Pancakes
Cooking time: 1-2 minutes
Method: Frying pan
Pancakes
You will need: 1 medium egg; 284ml (1/2 pt) water; 20ml (4tsp) vegetable oil for greasing.
Method:
1.Beat together egg and water. Empty sachet contents into a bowl then gradually add egg/water, whisking to a smooth batter.
2. Add 1/3 tsp oil to the frying pan and heat through.
3. Pour in enough batter to thinly coat the base of the pan and cook until golden.
4. Turn the pancake and cook through.
5. Repeat until all the batter has been used.
Coating batter.
Empty the batter mix into a bowl and gradually add 175ml water, whisk until a smooth batter in formed. For crispy batter add 2 tsp baking to the dry mix. Use to coat fish , meat, fruit or vegetables and then fry in hot fat.
