Our contract with you
The Tesco.ie Site (from here on called "this Site") is operated by Tesco Ireland Limited (from here on called "Tesco", "we", "us" and "our").
We want our legal relationship with you in relation to this Site to be fair and clear. We have therefore set out how the different parts of that relationship will work in three important documents, which are available on this Site. These are:
- Our Terms and Conditions (this document), which covers the general use and operation of this Site, placing orders, receiving deliveries, making payment, returns and other related matters.
- Our Privacy Policy, which covers how we may use information about you and your use of this Site.
You should read each of these documents carefully, as together they form the basis of our legal relationship with you, and they affect your rights and liabilities under the law.
In addition, sometimes other terms and conditions or policies we have in place may be relevant to our legal relationship with you. These will include, for example, any terms and conditions that apply to promotions or competitions or our policy on returns.
If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not use this Site. On each occasion that you then use this Site, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, including any amendment that we may make to them.
We may amend these terms and conditions from time to time. We’ll notify you of any amendments using the email address you give us, or through an announcement on this Site. Changes to these terms and conditions will apply after we have given such notice. If you don’t wish to accept the amended terms and conditions, you should not continue to use this Site. If you do continue to use this Site, you’ll be bound by the amended terms and conditions.
Obligation to purchase and sell
Nothing on this Site constitutes an offer to sell any product shown. Any order you place on this Site is an offer to Tesco to sell you the product ordered. Your offer will remain open until you withdraw it in accordance with these terms and conditions, or it is accepted by us. We may accept your offer by making a delivery to you. The contract for the sale of the product will be formed when our driver arrives at the delivery address.
We may decline to sell any product you have ordered without giving any reason and without any liability to you. Without restricting this, we’ll decline to sell products where they are not available or where we believe that the order has not been placed by a consumer.
Transfer of ownership
You will own the products dispatched to you from the time they are delivered to you. Until then, they will remain the property of Tesco.
Minimum requirements for registration and use
To register for and use this Site you must be:
- Over 18.
- Acting only as a consumer, and not in any business capacity.
Personal details
You must ensure that the details you provide on registration are correct and complete, and that you keep them up to date by updating your personal details on this Site.
Technical compatibility
You must ensure that your computer hardware and software, including internet access, meet the requirements of this Site.
Password security
When you register to use this Site, you will be asked to create a password. You must keep this password confidential. You’ll be responsible for all activities, including the placing of orders, that occur using your password. If you know or suspect that someone else knows your password, you should contact Customer Services immediately. We may require you to change your password at any time to maintain the security of your account.
Intellectual property
The content of this Site is protected by copyright, trademarks, database and other intellectual property rights. You may retrieve and display content from this Site on a computer screen, store such content in electronic form on disk (but not any server or other storage device connected to a network), or print one copy of such content for your own personal, non-commercial use, provided you keep intact all and any copyright and proprietary notices. You may not otherwise reproduce, modify, copy or distribute or use for commercial purposes any of the materials or content on this Site without written permission from Tesco.
No licence is granted to you in these terms and conditions or elsewhere to use any trademark held by Tesco or any affiliated companies including, without limitation, the trademarks TESCO and TESCO CLUBCARD.
Prohibited uses
You may not use this Site for any of the following purposes:
- Disseminating any unlawful, misleading, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable material.
- Transmitting material that encourages criminal conduct, results in civil liability or otherwise breaches any relevant laws, regulations or codes of practice.
- Gaining unauthorised access to any computer system.
- Interfering with any other person's use of this Site.
- Breaching any laws concerning the use of public telecommunications networks.
- Interfering or disrupting networks or websites connected to this Site.
- Making, transmitting or storing electronic copies of materials protected by copyright without the permission of the owner.
Indemnities
You will indemnify Tesco against all losses, liabilities, costs and expenses reasonably suffered or incurred by us, all damages awarded against us under any judgment by a court of competent jurisdiction, and all sums paid by us as a result of any settlement agreed by us arising out or in connection with:
Any claim by any third party that the use of this Site by you is defamatory, offensive or abusive, or of an obscene or pornographic nature, or is illegal or constitutes a breach of any applicable law, regulation or code of practice.
Any claim by any third party that the use of this Site by you infringes that third party's copyright or other intellectual property rights of whatever nature.
Any fines or penalties imposed by any regulatory, advertising or trading body or authority in connection with the use of this Site by you.
Availability of this Site
We may at any time suspend or restrict the operation of this Site without notice.
Third party content
This Site will include content, in particular advertising, from third parties. We will not be liable to you for the accuracy of this content or for any dealings you may have with any third party in connection with or as a result of that content. If we’re informed of any inaccuracies in such content, we’ll correct them as soon as we reasonably can.

This Site will include links to other internet sites, including those of other businesses, where other terms and conditions will apply. We will not be liable for any content on these sites or any of your dealings with the businesses that may operate them.
Your information
We'll use your information only in accordance with our Privacy and Cookies Policy.
Suspension and cancellation of registration
You may cancel your registration at any time by calling Customer Services. If you do so, you must stop using this Site.
We may suspend or cancel your registration at our complete discretion and at any time with or without notice to you. We will not be required to retain any information we hold about you after that time.
Prices
The price you’ll be charged for a product you have ordered will be the price at which it is on sale in-store at the time your order is put together for dispatch. Because the prices of products may change frequently, this may not be the price at which the product was displayed on this Site at the time you place your order.
You may therefore return any product we deliver if the price charged has increased from the price shown on this Site when your order was placed. We’ll refund the price you have paid for this product where necessary.
In addition to paying for the products dispatched to you, you’ll have to pay for delivery at the rate applicable for the date and time of your delivery.
Availability of product
If a product you have ordered is unavailable, we may dispatch a suitable alternative product. You may instruct us not to dispatch such alternative products using the option for the purpose on the Site.
If a product you have ordered is not available in the quantity you have ordered, we may dispatch a lower quantity.
Delivery
Delivery addresses must be in areas of Ireland (this excludes Northern Ireland) which are serviced by the Tesco.ie delivery service.
Delivery is not available on Sundays from certain stores. This will be clearly shown on the online booking system.
Delivery slots are subject to availability.
All deliveries are subject to a delivery charge. Once you place your order, you agree to pay the delivery charge. Customers who have signed up to the Tesco Delivery Saver plan do not pay a delivery charge.
Delivery will be made to the address you give when you place your order. We’ll deliver your order to the main entrance of the delivery address, where it is safe to do so, or otherwise as near as possible to that entrance. At your request, our driver may carry your order into the delivery address, for example, to a particular floor in an apartment block or into your kitchen, but only if the driver is satisfied that they have appropriate permission and that it is safe and practical to do so.
We will use our best endeavours to deliver your order within the times you request when you place your order. However, we will not be liable to you if we fail to do so.
All goods must be signed for on delivery by an adult aged 18 years or over. Tesco follows a ‘Think 25’ policy, so if the person receiving the goods looks under 25, proof of age will be requested. If proof is not available and there is no-one of that age at the address when delivery is being made, the goods may be retained by the driver. If we attempt to deliver your order to the delivery address as arranged with you but there is nobody at the delivery address to accept your order, the driver will leave notification of attempted delivery and you will need to contact our Customer Service Centre to re-arrange delivery (see below for contact details).
If there is no answer at the delivery address you give, our driver will leave notification of attempted delivery and you will need to contact our Customer Service Centre to arrange redelivery. A further charge may become payable for redeliveries.
If your order total is less than €45, a minimum basket charge of €3 will be added to your order, on top of your delivery charge. You will not receive this additional charge if:
- Your final basket is worth €45 or more when you check out
- You make changes to your order after you've checked out and the final basket is over the threshold
- Any substitutions are made to your order which result in your basket dropping below the minimum spend.
If your basket isn't worth the minimum spend of €45 or more when you check out, and you're charged the minimum basket charge, you will still receive your Clubcard points. The points you earn from each order will be added to your account when you check out. This also applies if you have a Tesco Delivery Saver plan.
Cancellation and amendment of orders
You may cancel or change any of your current orders up until the amendment cut-off point specified on the Homepage or My Grocery Orders page of this Site by:
- Going to My Account and clicking on My Grocery Orders
- Calling Customer Service.
Orders cannot be cancelled by email.
You can change your chosen delivery slot up until 11.30pm the night before the agreed slot time, except in the case of Same Day delivery, where you can change your chosen delivery slot up until 11.59am on the day of delivery.
Returns and refunds
When you buy from our website, we want you to be happy with your purchase. However, we know sometimes you may need to return goods. This policy sets out when you can return goods, and how to do so.
If you don’t return the goods within 21 days of your cancellation, we’ll make a charge for the cost of recovering the goods. If you don’t return the goods, or fail to make them available for collection, within 30 days of your notice of cancellation, you will be deemed to have accepted the goods, at which point a new purchase contract will be made and you’ll be charged for your order at the price set out on the website. This does not affect your statutory rights.
If you change your mind
If you change your mind, we offer a refund or exchange of certain goods within certain time periods (please see the table below).

You should take reasonable care of the goods whilst they are in your possession (reasonable care includes inspecting goods, but would not extend to your opening certain goods, for example, sealed cleaning products).
Back to School F&F Refund Policy
1 year quality guarantee applies to F&F school uniform clothing and shoes only. If you're not satisfied with the quality of your F&F school uniform, you can return it to a Tesco store (excluding Express stores) within 1 year with your proof of purchase for an exchange or refund. Your legal rights are not affected. Exceptions apply. Please view pdf for further information.
If you have received faulty or damaged goods
You may hand any faulty or damaged goods back to the driver at the time of delivery, or a member of staff when collecting your order (as applicable). Or return the product to a Tesco store (with proof of purchase) for a refund or exchange. For perishable items, we ask you do this no later than 7 days after the date of delivery or collection.
When you return goods
When you return the goods to us, please also let us have all the original packaging, tags, labels, and any accessories.
Getting your refund
If you are entitled to a refund, we will refund you as follows:
- If you paid by payment card, we’ll refund you on the payment card.
- If you paid by gift card/money card, we’ll refund you on your payment card or send you a cheque.
- If you paid by Clubcard voucher, we’ll either refund you on your payment card, send you a cheque or give you the equivalent in Clubcard points.
Refunds for products purchased under a promotional offer will be based on the terms of the promotional price.
In the event of a refund, all Clubcard points received for the purchase of a refunded product will be removed from your Clubcard account.
Same Day Delivery
The following additional terms apply to Same Day delivery. Same Day delivery is only available in selected locations. You can change your chosen delivery slot up until 11.59am on the day of delivery. You can cancel or make changes to your order until 11.59am on the day of delivery. Where Same Day delivery is available,
- Tesco Delivery Saver plan members can avail of it for free; and
- Over-65 Delivery Saver plan members can avail of it for free from 3pm to 7pm, Monday to Saturday (outside of these hours members will pay the standard pay as you go Same Day rate).
Delivery Saver Offer
We’re offering the homeowner the opportunity to trial the Tesco Delivery Saver subscription plan for three-months at the cost of only €3 (or €1 per month).
The Homeowner Delivery Saver Offer is only open to homeowners not already subscribed to Delivery Saver.
At the end of the three months, the Homeowner Delivery Saver Offer subscription will automatically renew for €45 (three months of Delivery Saver for €15 per month). However, subscribers receive 14-days’ notice by email, with the option to cancel if they wish.

Homeowners using the three-month Homeowner Delivery Saver Offer must be 18 years or over and be a resident in the Republic of Ireland.
The Homeowner Delivery Saver Offer is valid from 2 December 2024 and will close at 23.59 on 31 January 2025. Requests submitted after this time will not be able to redeem this Homeowner Delivery Saver Offer.

Homeowners must provide an email address to redeem the Homeowner Delivery Saver Offer. It’s recommended that you subscribe using the email address connected with your existing Tesco Ireland account, if applicable.
Upon completing the form, you’ll be sent, within seven working days and by means of email communication, a unique coupon code. This unique code can only be redeemed once at the Delivery Saver checkout online.
A minimum basket spend of €50 per order applies to all home deliveries. If an order does not meet this requirement, you will be charged the same delivery fee/s as if you were not a Member of the Delivery Saver subscription plan.

Click+Collect
Click+Collect is only available in selected stores. This will be clearly shown on the online booking system. Collection slots are subject to availability.
The minimum basket value for Click+Collect is €30. For baskets with a value of less than €30, we will add a charge of €3 onto your order. We will add the charge to your total at the checkout page before you pay. If you go back and change your order, so that the value of your order is greater than the minimum basket value, we will remove the charge. You will not incur this charge if:
- You make changes to your order after you’ve checked out and the final basket is over the threshold
- Any substitutions are made to your order which result in your basket dropping below the threshold.
If you have incurred the minimum basket charge, you’ll earn Clubcard points on the charge and these will be added to your account when you check out.
If you choose to collect your order from a store, the time slot and store will be agreed with you when you place your order.
You can (a) change your slot booking up until 11.30pm the day before the agreed slot time. (b) make changes to your order up until 11:45pm the day before the agreed slot time and (c) cancel your order up until midnight the day before the agreed slot time. See further below in the case of Same Day collection.
Please note that you will be unable to collect your order earlier than the agreed time slot. Should you arrive late, you may still be able to collect your order - please speak with our colleague at the collection point who will be able to help you.
If for any reason beyond our reasonable control, we are unable to supply a particular item, we will not be liable to you.
Please bring your mobile or smartphone with you to collect your groceries, and follow the instructions on display at your Click+Collect location to notify us of your arrival. You may be asked for your order number or to show an appropriate form of ID or the debit/credit card you used to pay for your order.
Same Day Click+Collect
The following additional terms apply to Same Day Click+Collect. Same Day Click+Collect is only available in selected stores. Charges apply. You can change your chosen Same Day Click+Collect slot up until 11.59am on the day of collection. You can cancel or make changes to your order until 11.59am on the day of collection. Where Same Day Click+Collect is available,
- Tesco Delivery Saver plan members can avail of it for free; and

Whoosh
Please read these terms and conditions carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law and set out the terms under which Tesco makes the products available to you (“Whoosh Terms"). By using Whoosh you agree to these Whoosh Terms. Please note that our General Terms and Conditions also apply to your use of Whoosh.
Availability
Whoosh is only available in selected locations, and we only deliver goods to addresses close to the participating stores.
The Whoosh webpage and app section will show products that are available for delivery in Whoosh delivery areas when the Whoosh service is available. The Whoosh product range will differ to Tesco’s standard grocery home shopping range and the full range available instore. Availability hours may vary and are subject to change and may differ from the availability hours for Tesco’s standard grocery home shopping.
If for any reason beyond our reasonable control, we are unable to supply a particular item, we will not be liable to you.
To ensure that we can fulfil your order, there is a maximum weight and volume limit. Should your basket exceed these limits, you will be required to remove items until the basket is within the limits before you can complete the order.
Acceptance
Your order is an offer to buy from us. A contract is only formed when we have despatched your order. Up until the point of despatch, we may decline to supply the goods to you.
Whoosh is available for non-commercial and domestic use only. We reserve the right to refuse orders from businesses, or orders that we consider are placed for commercial or other non-domestic purposes.
Minimum Basket Charge
If the value of the products in your basket when you confirm your order is less than €15, then we will add a €2 charge to your order. We will add the charge to your total at the checkout page, before you pay. If you go back and change your order, so that the value of your order is greater than €15, we will remove the charge.
You will earn Clubcard points on the €2 charge
If we apply a charge to your shop, and we give you a refund for your entire shop, we will also refund the €2 charge. However, we will not refund the charge if only some of the items in your shop are refunded.
Delivery
All deliveries are subject to a delivery charge. Once you place your order, you agree to pay the delivery charge. The cost (if applicable) of any bags used to deliver your order will be included within the delivery charge.
Whoosh deliveries will be fulfilled by a third-party supplier (Delivery Partner) and will be made to the address specified by you when you place your order.
The Delivery Partner will deliver your order to the main entrance of the delivery address. For apartment blocks, we’ll deliver to the property’s main entrance. For hospitals or other public addresses, it is at the rider’s discretion to deliver to the front door or agreed meeting point.
All goods must be received by an adult aged 18 years or over.
Proof of delivery is required for all orders; you will be required to give a 4-digit PIN code to the Delivery Partner to receive your order. This will be sent to you via text notification from Tesco.
Tesco operates an Age Verification policy for age-restricted products such as matches, tobacco, vapes, alcohol and medicines, so you will be asked to show ID to prove you are over 18 prior to delivery of these products.
The Delivery Partner will record your date of birth and deliver the goods. If proof is not available and there is no-one of that age at the address when delivery is being made, the goods will not be delivered to you. We reserve the right to retain the delivery charge and the cost of any perishable items. We will refund the price you paid for any non-perishable items.
If the Delivery Partner attempts to deliver your order to the delivery address as arranged with you but there is nobody at the delivery address to accept your order, your order will be cancelled. We reserve the right to retain the delivery charge and the cost of any perishable items.
We aim to make delivery from as little as 45 minutes of you checking out your order. However, whilst the Delivery Partner will make every effort to deliver all your goods in the agreed time, we will not be liable if the Delivery Partner fails to do so due to circumstances beyond our or the Delivery Partner’s control.
Delivery slots are subject to availability.
Prices and VAT
Please note that the prices on our Grocery website and app are guide prices only. The actual price you pay will be the price charged at the time your order is picked for delivery. The actual order value cannot be determined until the time of delivery because the prices stated on the website may vary either above or below the prices applicable when your order is picked and delivered. When your order is delivered, you may then return any item to a Tesco store and receive a full refund if you are unhappy with the price charged.
All prices are expressed inclusive of any VAT payable unless otherwise stated. The price of the items does not include the delivery charge which will be charged at the rate specified when you place your order.
Prices for goods on Whoosh may differ and be higher than the prices in our stores and higher than those prices for goods available for Tesco’s standard grocery home shopping.
Returns and Refunds
We'd like you to be happy with everything you purchase from Tesco. Unfortunately, your order or individual products cannot be returned to the Delivery Partner at the point of delivery. If you have changed your mind about any of the products you have ordered, or if you are unhappy with any of the products, please call us on 1800 248 123.
Our refund policy is in addition to and does not affect any of your legal rights. If you have any complaints about an online transaction, please get in touch at our Contact us page and we will work hard to find a solution.
Changing your order
You cannot make changes to any of your current Whoosh orders once your order has been placed.
Payment
We accept the following payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Laser. We do not accept cash, cheques, any paper vouchers or third-party coupons or any other forms of payment. We don't currently accept Visa Electron cards or Tesco gift cards.
You can also pay using Clubcard vouchers. Your credit/debit card details will be encrypted to minimise the possibility of unauthorised access or disclosure. Authority for payment must be given at the time of placing your order.
Payment is taken at the time of checking out an order. If your final order is less than expected, or unavailable, we’ll refund you automatically, you don’t need to do anything. This should be with you in the next 3-5 working days and will be made to the card you paid with.

Tesco Delivery Saver
Whoosh orders are excluded from Tesco Delivery Saver membership benefits.
General
These Product Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ireland and any disputes will be decided only by the Irish courts.
If any of these Product Terms is held by any court of competent authority to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, in whole or in part, this will not affect the validity of the remaining Product Terms which will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Our rights to make changes
Where we need to make changes to these terms and conditions, we reserve the right to do so by uploading a suitably updated version of these terms and conditions to Tesco.ie and the Tesco Ireland app.
Your continued use of the service will constitute your acceptance of any change(s) that may have been made in accordance with the above arrangements.
Customer Services
It is our responsibility to supply you with goods that meet your consumer rights and comply with this contract. If you have any concerns that we have not met our legal obligations, please contact us on 1800 248 123.
Your statutory rights
Don't worry, nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights. The simplest way to return your items is as mentioned above.
Payment online
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Laser in payment. We do not accept cash, cheques, any paper vouchers or coupons or any other forms of payment.
Your card details will be encrypted to minimise the possibility of unauthorised access or disclosure. Authority for payment must be given at the time of placing your order. In line with the Payment Services Directive, the full amount of your final order must be authorised with your bank at the time you place your order. Given your final order amount may vary depending on product availability, substitutions and promotional changes, Tesco will seek authorisation on (but won't charge) your credit/debit card of 15% over the guide price indicated to ensure payment is not refused by your bank on your delivery or collection date.
As always, you will only be charged for products when they are dispatched and in line with our terms and conditions.
Ratings and reviews
By submitting any content to the Site, you agree that:
- You are the sole author of and are personally responsible for any content you submit (e.g. a written review) and you own any intellectual property rights that relate to it.
- All 'moral rights' that you may have in such content have been voluntarily waived by you.
- We may contact you at the email address attached to your account to request a review or to notify you about the status of your review.
You agree that you won't submit anything that:
- Is false, inaccurate, or misleading.
- You have been paid or rewarded for, if such compensation influenced the content of your review in any way.
- Has been copied from anyone else, or infringes on any third party’s copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret or other proprietary rights or rights of publicity or privacy.
- Violates any law or is considered to be offensive e.g. threatening, libellous or racially or religiously biased.
- Includes references to other websites or any contact information (e.g. email addresses or phone numbers).
- Contains any computer viruses, worms or other potentially damaging computer programmes or files.
Ratings and written reviews will generally be posted within two to four business days. Tesco reserves the right to remove or to refuse to post any submission for any reason.
Clubcard
When you register for an account to shop on the website, a Clubcard account will be automatically opened for you, unless you already have one. By registering for an account on the website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. You shall also be bound by the Clubcard Terms and Conditions.
You may have the option to opt out of opening a Clubcard account at the point of registration, or you can contact us to let us know if you do not want a Clubcard account.
Tesco app
In this section, ‘content’ means any image, photograph, picture, text, artwork, file, sound, graphic, data or other similar materials submitted or uploaded to, via, through or in connection with the app. ‘Media’ means any means of conveying information, whether now known or hereafter devised.
Tesco and any Tesco subcontractor or representative (including IQ Engines, Inc) disclaim all warranties and limit all liabilities arising out of or related to the App to the fullest extent permissible under law. In particular, both Tesco and any Tesco subcontractor or representative (including IQ Engines, Inc) disclaim all liabilities in connection with the following:
- Incompatibility of the app with any of your equipment, software, or telecommunications links.

You hereby grant to Tesco, and where applicable any Tesco subcontractor or representative (including IQ Engines, Inc), a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully-paid up, transferable right and license, with the right to sublicense (through multiple tiers) in respect of all of your intellectual property and other rights in the Content to copy, make derivative works of, distribute, transmit, publicly perform, publicly display, modify or adapt the content, in whole or in part, for any and all purposes, in any manner, using any media.
You acknowledge that Tesco owns or is the licensee to all right, title and interest in and to this app, including all rights under patent, copyright, trademark and all other proprietary rights including all applications, renewals, extensions and restorations thereof, granted by and under any and all applicable laws.

Standard voucher terms and conditions
Tesco Clubcard vouchers can be used in any participating Tesco store in the Republic of Ireland and online at tesco.ie.
Clubcard vouchers are and shall remain the property of Tesco Ireland Limited. They have no cash redemption value, are not for resale or publication, and are only valid in the Republic of Ireland.
Vouchers can only be used once and only by the person to whom they were issued. At the time of purchase, vouchers must be presented by the person named on them, along with their Clubcard or Clubcard account number. Additional proof of identity may be required. Copied, damaged or defaced vouchers will not be accepted.
Clubcard vouchers can be exchanged for goods equivalent to their face value, or of a higher value with a payment for the difference, but no change will be given in-store. They can also be exchanged for Clubcard Rewards, excluding top-up vouchers.
Clubcard vouchers can't be exchanged for cash or used for non-qualifying products i.e.: products purchased in coffee shops or restaurants, or for purchases of tobacco or tobacco related products, lottery tickets, savings or postage stamps, medicines, infant milk formula, alcohol, recyclable bags, gift cards, in store concessions, Paypoint payments, Delivery saver and DRS deposit fee. Other products may also be excluded from the scheme at the discretion of Tesco. Age restrictions apply to certain products.
Standard coupon terms and conditions
Using Coupons
Tesco coupons issued by Tesco ROI have no cash redemption and can only be used in ROI stores or online at tesco.ie subject to these general terms and conditions, and any other specific conditions notified to you on the issue of a coupon.
No coupon is redeemable through any website owned or operated by Tesco Ireland Limited (Tesco) other than tesco.ie or any Tesco store.
A coupon is redeemed by:
- Scanning the barcode at the till in-store
- Entering the coupon code at the appropriate point in the online purchase process
An online coupon can only be redeemed online and is valid on orders placed and delivered/collected before 23:59 on the stated validity date.
Your use of a coupon indicates your agreement to be bound by these coupon Terms and Conditions.
Tesco reserves the right to vary, withdraw or cancel a coupon for any reason at any time.
Redemption may be subject to you providing proof of entitlement to use the coupon.
Distribution of coupons
Coupons remain the property of Tesco Ireland Limited and are not for resale or publication. Coupons are valid in the Republic of Ireland only.
The right to use a coupon is personal to the original recipient and may not be transferred.
Online coupons start with RC or RG.
If an online coupon is issued directly to the recipient, it may not be transferred. The coupon can only be used by the person to whom it was issued and in the corresponding account.
If an online coupon is displayed on the Tesco.ie homepage or on a banner, it can be used by anyone, unless otherwise specified.
No coupon may be copied, reproduced, distributed, or published directly or indirectly in any form or by any means for use by an entity other than the original recipient, or stored in a data retrieval system, without prior written permission of Tesco.
Coupons distributed or circulated without the written approval of Tesco, for example on an Internet message board or on a "bargains" website, are not valid for use and may be refused or cancelled. Copied, damaged or defaced coupons will not be accepted. If coupons are damaged or lost and you want to reprint them, log on or register with My Clubcard Account at tesco.ie/clubcard or you can scan them directly from your phone by downloading the Tesco App from your mobile phone’s app store.
Permitted usage of coupons
Unless expressly stated otherwise at the time of issue of the coupon.
a) Each issued coupon will be valid for use by a recipient only once.
b) Only one coupon will be valid for use per customer or household.
Age restrictions apply to certain product ranges.
Offers are subject to availability and where stocked.
Coupons cannot be exchanged for cash or used to purchase non-qualifying goods and services
Non-qualifying (excluded) goods and services
Certain goods or services are excluded from all coupons as they are non-qualifying products i.e.: products purchased in coffee shops or restaurants, or for purchases of tobacco or tobacco related products, lottery tickets, savings or postage stamps, medicines, infant milk formula, alcohol, recyclable bags, gift cards, in store concessions, Paypoint payments, Delivery saver and DRS deposit fee. Other products may also be excluded from the scheme at the discretion of Tesco
Coupons may be limited to redemption in respect of certain products or services, or certain products or services may be excluded from the ambit of use of the coupon, in which case notice will be given to you at the time of issue of the coupon.
Excluded goods and services will not count towards any qualifying conditions for offers and will not benefit from any promotional discount.
Minimum spend requirements
Where the redemption of a coupon is subject to a minimum spending requirement, the redemption is only permitted in respect of the purchase of qualifying products which will be communicated to you at the time of issue of the coupon. Excluded products and supplementary charges, such as delivery will not count towards a minimum spend requirement. If more than one minimum spend offer is valid for use in an order, there must be sufficient qualifying spend to meet the requirements of each offer in total. For example, to use a €3 off €30 coupon and a €5 off €50 coupon in the same transaction you must spend at least €80 after discounts and promotions are applied. In addition to the above, please refer to the back of your coupon as individual T&C’s may apply. These terms and conditions are in addition to the Clubcard Terms and Conditions.
Calculation of discount
Where an online offer states that a percentage discount will be given on a purchase, the cost of the qualifying purchases will be reduced by the stated discount percentage.
Where purchases are stated to be offered on a "VAT-free" basis, the prices of qualifying items will be reduced by the equivalent of VAT. At the current VAT rate of 23%, this equates to a discount of 18.70%.
Supplementary charges such as delivery or postage and packing shall not be discounted, unless specifically stated in the offer description.
Security and fraud
When you use a coupon, you warrant to Tesco that you are the duly authorised recipient of the coupon and that you are using it in good faith.
If you redeem, attempt to redeem, or encourage the redemption of coupons to obtain discounts to which you or a third party are not entitled, you may be committing a civil or criminal offence.
If we reasonably believe that any coupon is being used unlawfully or illegally, we may reject or cancel any coupon, and you agree that you will have no claim against us in respect of any rejection or cancellation. Tesco reserves the right to take any further action it deems appropriate in such instances.
Limitation of liability
At all times, our acceptance of an order takes place on despatch of the order, at which point the purchase contract will be made and you will be charged for your order.
All offers are subject to availability and while stocks last.
Tesco will not be liable to any customer or household for any financial loss arising out of the refusal, cancellation, or withdrawal of any coupon or any failure or inability of a customer or household to use a coupon for any reason.
Miscellaneous
We reserve the right to vary or terminate the operation of any eCoupon at any time without notice.
The failure of Tesco to take any action in respect of a breach of these terms and conditions shall not constitute a waiver of their enforceability. Tesco reserves its rights in respect of these terms and conditions at all times.
Tesco gift cards
The following terms apply to Tesco gift cards, in addition to the terms listed on the back of such cards:
- Lost or stolen cards can’t be replaced.
- A gift card has no value until activated at a Tesco Ireland store.
- A gift card is redeemable for products or services to the value shown on your gift receipt at any Tesco Ireland store.
- A gift card can’t be exchanged for cash or credit.
- A gift card can’t be used to purchase another Tesco gift card or third-party gift card sold in Tesco Ireland stores.
- The gift card and balance will expire five years from purchase or last card use, whichever is later.
- Damaged, altered or cancelled cards will not be accepted.
- Unspent balance remains on the gift card until expiry, whereupon it is cancelled.
- A gift card can be exchanged for goods of a higher price than the value on the gift card on payment of the difference.
- If a product purchased with a gift card is subsequently exchanged for a product of a lower price or a refund, any money owing will be (a) added to the remaining balance on the gift card, (b) refunded to the customer’s payment card or (c) paid out in cash, at the discretion of Tesco.
- Tesco is not responsible for unauthorised use of a gift card.
- Gift cards are not reloadable.
- Gift cards cannot be refunded or resold.
General
In no circumstances will our liability to you in connection with any order exceed the total price charged for the relevant items.
The Site is for use by persons in Ireland only. If you access the Site from any other country, you are responsible for compliance with laws there.
Accessing the Site from countries where such access or the contents of the Site are illegal is prohibited.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland.
In these terms and conditions, the singular includes the plural and vice versa.
If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid, the invalidity of that provision will not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of these terms and conditions, which shall remain in full force and effect.
You may not assign, sub-license or otherwise transfer any of your rights under these terms and conditions.
If you breach these terms and conditions and we do not take any action, that will not affect our ability to rely on these terms and conditions later.
We shall not be liable for any breach of these terms and conditions caused by circumstances beyond our control.
